Sophie’s at Saks Fifth Avenue is inspired by Sophie Gimbel, Saks’s taste-making fashion designer known for her sculptural forms, nuanced geometries and refined materiality. Through our creative lens, initial inspiration translates into elegant forms, materials and details at every scale. This 2,500-square-foot restaurant on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile features a rippled crystal glass wall and custom millwork with shimmering hand-crafted metal inserts. It is sumptuously appointed with vintage velvet, silk and gold leaf, and features and a custom chandelier commissioned by Nadja Swarovski. The furniture was all designed specifically for the project.
